Point2 Kickin’ it INMAN Connect-Style
INMAN Connect San Francisco was a great time for the Point2 crew, as it always tends to be.
I always love the West Coast show because it gives us a chance to catch up with so many of our listing syndication partners.
It felt to us that this show had a lot more . . . life . . . more energy than the bulk of last year’s, which focused much more on the negative aspects of the market and the economy in general (how could they not?).
This show, on the other hand, had a lot more optimism, more playfulness, an underlying spring in its step if you will.

5 Items of Interest from INMAN Connect San Francisco:
1.
Seeing what was produced by two highly talented teams (Diverse Solutions and Real Estate Webmasters) in a mere 48 hours at the Coder Competition was mind-blowing. Kudos to both teams.
2.
I found the coolest back-alley pub in downtown San Francisco, by accident. I was walking by myself, and heard a bunch of noise and faint music coming from this back alley:

So, naturally, I headed straight for it (I think I missed a ‘Street Safety’ course or two), and it was this jam-packed little Irish pub with tables strewn down the alley. It was bursting at the seams, and judging by the atmosphere I was about 4 pints behind the rest of the crowd – otherwise I would have stayed. Probably for the better that I didn’t.
3.
I’m proud of our company. I think we’ve tried very hard to treat our customers as much like friends as possible, and it really shows when we get out on the road and have the pleasure of interacting with them directly. No company does everything right, but if your customers are treated with respect and know that you are genuinely interested in their success and happiness, they will forgive you the occasional miscue and celebrate your successes right alongside you.
Thanks Point2 Members!
4.
Eating in San Francisco is one of life’s great pleasures. If you’ve been there, you know well what I mean, and if not . . . well, I’ll spare you any further details
5.
There are so many smart people building great stuff in real estate right now that the next few years will prove to be very exciting; I’m sure of it. Finding new ways to truly engage real estate consumers is one big part of it. Another in my opinion is re-discovering the fun of real estate.
Sure, it’s a business. Sure, it’s a major transaction. But it’s also FUN! Who doesn’t like snooping through well-produced real estate listings, from the beautiful ones right on down to the fuglies
Thanks to 1000Watt, INMAN, and everyone else who helped to make INMAN Connect San Francisco a great show for Point2.
