Get Listed – With Craigslist
In the last few editions of ‘Where Your Listings Go’, we focused on syndication partners that automatically post your listing once it has been entered into your Point2 Agent account. This month, we take another approach and look at a different kind of syndication partner – Craigslist.
What makes Craigslist different? Craigslist requires all listings to be manually posted. However, the few seconds it takes to add your listing is a small sacrifice to make in order to receive some of the best exposure available.
What began as a small email distribution featuring live events in the San Francisco bay area in 1995, soon became a web-based service we all know & love and has expanded to approximately 570 cities in 50 countries by mid 2009.

Just exactly how much exposure is your listing receiving on Craigslist? Craigslist reportedly receives over 20 billion page views per month, over 50 million unique monthly visitors in the United States, and is ranked 7th overall amongst web portals. Although Craigslist has only had minor design changes, the website is known for its simplicity. Craigslist avoids all the bells and whistles and keeps it simple, so that consumers can easily find what they are looking for.
By using your Point2 Agent account, posting your listing to Craigslist can be done quickly and effortlessly. Just follow the steps, paste a few lines of code that we’ll generate automatically for you, and you’re done!
It might take a few extra seconds, but for the amount of exposure your listing receives…well, you have no reason not to post your listing to Craigslist.
Stop hesitating, and get on the list!

Many of my Craigslist ads that I post through Point 2 get removed. Any ideas?
Hey Chris,
Thanks for your comment. While posting your listing is made easy through Point2, Craigslist often moderates ads more closely since listings are manually posted.
There could be a few reasons why your listing is being removed. If you do notice any issues with posting to Craigslist, our Customer Care team would be happy to dive into this issue further for you.
Have a great day Chris!
Hey Chris,
The weeks I post my listings on Craigslist my point2homes site numbers always go up. This is a no brainer to do. I also recommend posting on Thursdays as you will catch the weekend traffic.
Craigslist is great.
That is some fantastic insight – thanks for sharing Joel!
We experienced a 80% increase in traffic by posting on craigslist.
It has been a great recruiting tool for new agents.
When you have a lsting that is sticking around longer than you like or if there is a price change. Should re-enter the info into Craigslist as the first entry may never be found as time passes on.
