An Urgent Need…
If you’ve seen a news broadcast in the past 24 hours or so, then you’re aware of the situation that has emerged as a result of the earthquake in Haiti. At this time, it’s incredible to see the ways support is pouring in from everywhere, and we want to make sure that all of our clients and friends know of the some of the best ways to help.
While we encourage you to support charities that you already have relationships with, the Red Cross is another good way to help. In the United States, this has been made easier than ever. If you’re in the US, you can just text ‘Haiti’ to the number 90999, and through the U.S. State Department, a $10 donation to the American Red Cross will be added to your next cell phone bill.
Here in Canada, the Canadian Government has pledged to match all charitable contributions up to a total of $50 Million dollars through the Canadian International Development Agency – that means every dollar you donate immediately becomes two.
Please consider following one of the links below (or even just sending a text!) and send help and support to where it’s needed most.

On Facing Change
Here here. Nice thing to do.
In today’s newspaper:
Canadians can also donate to charities through text message. The Salvation Army began its “text-to-donate” program on Thursday, whereby Canadians can make a $5 donation by texting HAITI to 45678 from Rogers Wireless or Bell Mobility, and then confirming with a YES reply.
Today, a 6.1 Magnitude Aftershock hit Haiti causing even more damage.
If you haven’t yet, please take a moment to offer a hand to those in need. Every little bit counts!
Vertoit Broker in Montreal is working to collect backpacks for the children of Haiti.
In these backpacks that we collect we will add items that can be useful to the children of Haiti. Our goal is to make a difference on the ground.
