Massive Photo Replacement Release Thursday

So we took a peek at all of the thousands of template images that we provide to our customers and noticed that a few were  . . . shall we say “starting to show signs of wear.”

We dug in and decided that, rather than just making a few changes here and there, we would replace 100% of all template headers and images!

Important News for Current Point2 Agent Customers:

  1. On Thursday, July 8th, ALL template graphics and headers will automatically be replaced.
  2. We have taken great care to ensure that the new graphics will match closely to those they are replacing, so we hope that the transition will be seamless and positive.
  3. Any custom graphics and headers that you have created or added to your site will not be replaced or altered in any way.
  4. Prudential agents and brokers – if you use images that include the Prudential logo, the replacement images will not include any Prudential logo.  This has been done at the request of Prudential.

We’ve done our best to make this a seamless and positive change, but if anything looks out of place, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll do our best to get you fixed up in no time!

This was a massive undertaking but it allowed us to make a couple of important improvements:

  • we’ve updated franchise logos across the board to reflect these brands’ updated looks
  • we’ve made many image tweaks that we hope you’ll agree modernize and improve the look of our template websites
  • we’ve replaced almost 100% of the stock photography that was previously used with Point2-created original photos and imagery

Are you working on website templates and drop down menus?

  2. I assume you are talking about the website picture.
I liked the one choice for me–just hope you will have option for sea scapes in Gulf Coast area. It would be great to be able to upload our own photography that depicts our specific area of the country, but I am standard and am not upgrading. Thanks, Carolyn

  3. We do need better beach options please!!!!

  4. Patty Halpin says:

Thanks! I can’t wait to see the improvements. I’ve been with you for years, (Professional category) and am always grateful for any upgrades you offer. I am thinking about the new IDX offering too! Thanks, PattyHalpin.Com

  5. Megan says:

    @Gail – Yes, most definitely. :)

@Carolyn and Caroline – Our aim was to ensure that all of the new graphic replacements would be as close to what was already in place on your website. Additionally, we’re going to be continually reviewing the graphics we have in our library and will definitely take your requests for more beach scenes into consideration when making future updates.

@Patty – Thanks for your comments!

  6. Megan says:

@Carolyn Couch – Here’s a sneak peek at what your header graphic will show up as, once this rolls out on Thursday.

    Tell us what you think.

  7. Can you do a template like the one above with Coldwell Banker Gundaker. I know you have lots of agents from our company using your websites. Just change the King Thompson to Gundaker and the rest is the same. That would be marvelous!!!
    Thanks,
    Chris

  8. nancy green says:

What is happening with the Prudential logo and how will this affect my website?

  9. Will there be new scenic(not the beach) templates that non-franchise brokerages can use? Thanks

  10. Megan says:

@Chris Robinson – We’ll add that request to the list, but in the meantime, feel free to use one of the newly refreshed generic header graphics that will be available.

@Nancy Green – While we have removed all Prudential logos appearing directly on the header graphics, this update does not affect any Prudential logo you may have uploaded in the Logo area of your website or directly to your website content. Those logos will be unaffected by this change.

@Lizette – Since we attempted to make all the new header graphics match as seamlessly as possible with the existing graphics, you should expect to see your header graphic replaced with something quite similar to what you already are using. Of course, if you wish, you’ll be able to select a new header graphic of your choosing from the gallery once this is released. You’ll find anything from mountain scenery, flowers, office scenery, houses, etc. You won’t be limited to just using a beach scene! ;-)

  11. Lilo Clacher says:

I hope we get some templates
    for us Florida Realtors

  12. Rick Devine says:

We do need drop down menus. When will those be available?

  13. From the examples, I don’t see much difference. I wish I could customize my site more than I can now. I have a graphic art background and feel stifled. What about some flash openers that we can customize with our own pictures?

  14. Donna says:

Golf, Golf and more Golf graphics. Please…

  15. Roger Spaugh says:

I hope you have added some coastal headers..ocean background, palm trees, sand.

  16. Carey says:

All excellent suggestions and yes, we have some very nice new design options coming over the next month or two – very exciting!

  17. gigget says:

What a complete waste of time. Hardly an upgrade.

  18. Carey says:

Gigget, this is just the first of many upgrades that will be complete in the next short while. Sorry this particular release is underwhelming for you, but there is good stuff to come.

  19. Richard says:

i’m waiting for the drop down menus upgrade as this is very useful in organizing our website and make it more professional looking only P2 can offer.

  20. Ehsan MW says:

That’s really a great news, Now can we expect some Lighter CSS Templates too??

  21. Ray Ferguson says:

I would love to see the “Google”, etc. Icons moved from the top center of the page to the bottom or the side of the listing page.

  22. Susan Hale says:

How will the Remax choices look?

  23. The new templates should bring larger dimensions for listings photos.

    Thank you for the improvements.

  24. Positive move – I asked last year for you guys to add drop down css style templates – even one or two would help – make this a priority please as you have been a couple of years working on this apparently – there is alot of back end functionality but we need to get rid of some clunky, outdated front page styling and navigation – yes, I know we can pay developers many dollars to do this but you guys have no excuse not to follow suit. It is no longer 1995 so move with the times please.

  25. Where would we locate the RE/MAX templates? I don’t recall ever seeing them.

    Drop down menus PLEASE :_)

  26. MBL says:

What is the date for drop-down menus? We’ve wanted them for years and the site appears outdated and low-budget without them.

  27. Elder says:

I would like to see more options for premium member based on the price differences we should get more. Like dropdown menus, Clon listings, etc.

  28. [...] to the gallery on a regular basis, so that you always have new choices for your website. Read more about the photo replacement and see some examples. Posted: Thursday, August 05, 2010 3:00 PM by Tanya Spilchak Filed under: [...]
